We are thrilled to announce this beautiful litter of 14 Wirehaired Vizsla puppies — 8 males and 6 females — born on July 16, 2026, in Ferndale, Washington, USA. A limited number of puppies are still available.
This is a particularly special litter for us, as both parents are Zöldmáli dogs, bred and raised in Hungary, coming from some of the very best Hungarian Wirehaired Vizsla working and show bloodlines. Both parents were born, titled, trained, and hunted over in Hungary.
The puppies are AKC registered and are being lovingly raised at Salish Wirehaired Vizsla Kennel under the care of Tarah Strachan. Pups were raised in Tarah’s home and on her farm where they are socialized with people, other dogs, farm animals, age appropriate field terrain, and scent. Puppies were introduced to crate training, car rides, birds, water, and gun shot. We implement (ESI) Early Scent Introduction and Bio Sensor Programs in our litters. Tails are left full and dewclaws are not removed.
The dam, Irma, arrived in the United States from our kennel in Hungary in autumn 2025. To make this special breeding possible, I personally flew to the USA with the sire, Zöldmáli Kavics, so that these two outstanding Zöldmáli dogs could be bred together.
Both parents have been extensively health tested and are clear/free of all breed-relevant genetic and orthopedic tests. Both have also completed a NAVHDA UT / HZP level test in Hungary, achieving a 1st Prize.
Irma is an accomplished hunting dog and an exceptional representative of the breed. In 2023, she was selected Wirehaired Vizsla of the Year in Hungary.
Kavics brings an equally impressive background. He carries five generations of dual-purpose working champion bloodlines behind him and combines genuine hunting ability with an exceptionally pleasant everyday temperament. At home, Kavics is a calm, laid-back and easygoing dog — but once in the field, he becomes a serious and talented hunting companion. Kavics has equally impressive show results in spite of his young age: he was Junior European Winner in 2025.
This litter brings together carefully selected Hungarian dual purpose genetics, excellent health, proven field ability, outstanding temperament, and a pedigree with generations of working and show champions behind it.

Take your time to look up the parents and their achievements. We are happy to discuss with you if this breed is really the right breed for you, as Vizslas are not for everyone. We are experienced exporting puppies all over the World. We raise our puppies in the early days in our living room, involving them into everyday family life. We stimulate their nerve system from an early age. As they grow, around 5 weeks of age, we move them to an inside-outside compartment, where they learn to go out potty, so when pups leave us (even at 8 weeks of age) their potty training is pretty advanced if not perfect. While puppies are with us, we extensively socialize them with kids, other dogs and make sure they get the best possible start in life. Those pups who need to stay here longer to meet the age requirement of their destination country, get crate trained, potty trained and fully vaccinated.
We send weekly photo updates and video updates to the future puppy homes, while pups are with us. We test the puppies at around 7 weeks of age and evaluate their hunting abilities and temperament, trying to match the most suitable home for them.
